Photography in Chinatown

With volunteers Kim, Julie, Kelly, Kat and Michelle leading the way, the teens spent a night out in Chinatown---trying new flavors and taking photos all the way. The first of a series of photography lessons, this outing focused on photographing at night ... and who could ask for better scenery? With donated cameras (thanks volunteers and NCJW!) the teens were quick to catch unique shots, taking in the new experiences all the while.

One of the coolest, funnest, smartest, most interesting groups of teens in Los Angeles!!

In an attempt to be adventurous, jellyfish and squid were ordered along with the usual fried rice and orange chicken. The verdict was unanimous (almost)---jellyfish is kinda tasty.

One of the evening's many discoveries---Chinese food is fun!

Practicing the fine art of self portraits ...

One of the many art shots taken over the course of the evening (this one courtesy of Noel). Stay tuned for news of our photography exhibit in May or June of 2009.
